New THIEL CS3.7 named CES Innovations Design & Engineering Award winner for 2007
THIEL's 22nd CES Innovations Award since 1978
The new THIEL CS3.7 has been named as an International Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for 2007. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products. The CS3.7's award is THIEL’s 22nd CES Design and Engineering honor.
The new CS3.7, expected to be available in early 2007, is a 3-way, floor standing speaker that utilizes all newly developed drivers. A very high output 1-inch tweeter is coincidently mounted in the center of a 5-inch midrange that incorporates a new ribbed diaphragm geometry. "The new midrange driver diaphragm technology allows unprecedented purity and sweetness of midrange reproduction," says designer, Jim Thiel. "The entire sonic spectrum is completely uncolored by any resonances, ringing, or energy storage from either the midrange or tweeter diaphragms." The $U.S. suggested retail price is expected to be $9900 per pair.
The CS3.7 will be displayed at the 2007 International CES, which runs January 8-11, 2007 in Las Vegas. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category at Innovations Plus at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Booth #68747. New for 2007: High-Performance Audio (HPA) Innovations Honorees like the CS3.7 will also be exhibited in The Venetian on the third floor, across from the San Polo Ballroom.
