THIEL Audio introducing new ViewPoint flat-panel video display loudspeaker at CES 2004
• Award-winning CS2.4 floor-standing loudspeaker, PowerPoint surface-mount speaker, and SW1 subwoofer featured in two live sound systems
• Sneak preview of prototype SW2 subwoofer and aluminum cabinet PowerPoint 1.2
• Dealer training sessions at Alexis Park/Athena Ballroom exhibit
U.S. loudspeaker manufacturer, THIEL Audio, is introducing its newest model, the ViewPoint (TM), a high performance loudspeaker designed for use with wall-mounted, flat panel video displays, at the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 8-11. In addition, THIEL will be conducting two live sound demonstrations, one featuring the award-winning CS2.4 floor-standing speaker with the SW1 subwoofer, and a second system featuring an aluminum cabinet version of the award-winning PowerPoint (R) surface-mount speaker in combination with prototypes of the upcoming SW2 subwoofer. THIEL is exhibiting in the Athena Ballroom of the Alexis Park Resort.
New ViewPoint flat panel video display speaker
The THIEL ViewPoint is a 2-way Coherent Source (R) loudspeaker designed to visually integrate with any brand of flat-panel, wall-mounted video display. The built-to-order all-aluminum enclosure is trimmed in length and painted to match the customer's display by THIEL for wall-mounting directly aside the display. The result is a unified, original equipment look and very high performance sound. Available late February 2004, the ViewPoint's suggested retail price is $1990 each.
The ViewPoint's combination of coaxial/coplanar driver mounting and 90 degree radiation pattern enables the sound to cover the room far more completely than normal, more directional surface-mount or in-wall speakers. By utilizing the patent-pending combination of mounting the woofer very close and angled to the wall surface, the ViewPoint eliminates the wall-reflection cancellation that mars the sonic performance of virtually every other surface-mounted speaker, therefore providing a greater degree of tonal fidelity, accuracy, and more natural spaciousness.
The ViewPoint's coaxial driver mounting, very wide dispersion characteristics, and excellent imaging performance also eliminate the need for a third, center channel loudspeaker. THIEL's Coherent Source design preserves the critical information that contributes to outstanding spatial reproduction to insure accurate dialog and proper center fill.
THIEL Dealer Training
For existing THIEL dealers and their staff who would like to enhance their ability to sell the benefits and features of the unique technology behind THIEL, and for prospective accounts who would like to learn more about what makes THIEL products so unique, as well as interested press, THIEL is holding special CES training sessions conducted by Larry Reagan, THIEL's Product and Sales Training Manager. The sessions will be held during each morning of the first three show days in THIEL's Athena Ballroom exhibit at the Alexis Park.
Larry will provide clear, easy to grasp instruction on the technology behind the magic of THIEL loudspeaker performance including our driver technology, time and phase coherent designs, cabinet designs and build quality and the importance of accuracy in the true "Jim Thiel" sense of the word. Larry will also include product specific training on proprietary technology in the PowerPoint and SW1 subwoofer systems. Larry has successfully cultivated high-end clientele while running a successful high end audio business for 14 years and is able to provide not only product training but also real-world insights into selling upscale audio. For dealers who would like to offer their clients a better experience and increase their own profitability, this session will be highly valuable. It will give you the tools you need to tell the story behind THIEL and to sell your customers up to better performance and long term satisfaction.
Dealers are encouraged to bring anyone in their company who has contact with the customers or THIEL products--from owners and managers to installers. Before the show, please RSVP Dawn Schnell at 859-254-9427, ext. 204, or e-mail at [email protected] If you are not able to RSVP before the show, still feel free to attend. Bagels and coffee will be offered and you will be able hear two THIEL systems demonstrated after the training session.

Sneak Peek of the new SW2 and PowerPoint 1.2
The exhibit's 7-channel surround system will feature prototypes of new, all-aluminum enclosure, ceiling-mounted PowerPoint 1.2s in conjunction with prototype versions of a new SW2 subwoofer, a soon-to-be companion to the SW1. With a cabinet volume of 250 liters and driven by two 15-inch drivers, the SW2 will provide very high output levels for the most demanding customers and largest rooms. The all-aluminum PowerPoint 1.2's cabinet reduces unwanted vibration for improved clarity and spatial performance.
