Live Demonstration of 6.1 channel surround system features THIEL's flagship CS7.2 loudspeakers and SmartSub(r) subwoofers, an 18 x 12 foot JVC high resolution video projection system, ultra-high performance Theta Digital electronics wired with high performance Alpha-Core Goertz cables.
Hear this system using an Apple iPod
January 2005: U.S. loudspeaker manufacturer, THIEL Audio, will be the featured loudspeakers in a half-million dollar ultimate surround-sound home theater system being demonstrated at the Alexis Park Hotel's Athena Ballroom during this year's Consumer Electronics Show, January 6-9, 2005, in Las Vegas.
This dream system, comprised of the world's finest high performance home audio and video products has been matched to deliver extraordinary realism in both picture and sound. The 6.1 channel sound system is anchored by $100,000 worth of THIEL loudspeakers that include five $8,000 CS7.2 loudspeakers for front, rear, and side channels, THIEL's high-performance $2,200 MCS1 for the center channel, and four of THIEL's new $8,900, 52" tall, 1000 watt SS4 SmartSub(r) subwoofers, all seamlessly matched with THIEL's innovative $4,400 SC1 Integrator. All of the system's THIEL speakers have been honored as CES Innovations Design and Engineering award winners, with the CS7.2 also being named as the "Speaker of the Millennium" by Germany's Image Hi-Fi magazine.
8000 Watts Powering 10 THIEL High Performance Loudspeakers
In addition to the four 1000 watt powered SS4 subwoofers, 4000 watts of Theta Digital power drive the other six THIEL loudspeakers from six $7900 Theta Citadel Monoblock Amplifiers in conjunction with four $10,000 Theta Generation VIII DACs. The video and sound source components consist of an $18,930 Theta Casablanca III Digital Music & Cinema Controller with Six Shooter 6-channel analog preamplifier and a $6000 Theta Compli Universal Player. Theta's components have consistently won "Editor's Choice" awards from The Absolute Sound and Stereophile Guide to Home Theater, and "Best of the Best" awards from Robb Report. Connections for all the electronics and speakers are supplied by over $15,000 worth of Alpha-Core's Goertz cables and interconnects including the solid silver Boa AG3.
18 x 12 foot HD Video from JVC
The system's $250,000 JVC's DLA-QX1G high resolution video projector is the world's first projector able to deliver the long-awaited ultra-high resolution images that match the depth and true-to-life presence of film. The QX1G has a native resolution of 2048 x 1536, the highest available for any projector of a cinema screen this size. With contrast ratio greater than 1000:1 and packed with 7,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, this QX1G projector outperforms all competing projectors for applications on screens up to 30-feet across. QX1G is the highest level of digital projection resolution in the world to date, and JVC, with its proprietary D-ILA chip technology, is the first in the world to achieve it. The JVC QX1G appears in partnership with CineLight Corporation, a distributor of advanced home theater technologies.
Hear an Apple iPod through the world's best sound equipment
One of the sound sources for this system is the innovative Apple iPod. You can hear how this phenomenally popular portable digital music player performs when played through some of the world's best audio components. The ultimate in sound portability meets the ultimate in high performance sound reproduction.
System Demonstrations Conducted Throughout CES
This THIEL/Theta/JVC/AlphaCore super system will be available for CES attendees to experience throughout the show at the Alexis Park's Athena Ballroom, just off the hotel's lobby area. The Alexis Park is the CES home to world's best audio manufacturers. Over 200 exhibitors offer the best in high performance audio equipment and technology. Patented THIEL SmartSub Technology for exceptional realism
THIEL's SS4 subwoofers and SC1 Integrator are part of a new line of THIEL SmartSub subwoofer products designed as the ultimate solution for bass reproduction in home theater and music sound systems. This family of ultra-high performance SmartSub(r) bass systems-the SS1, SS2, SS3, and SS4 subwoofers, SmartSub Integrator, and PX02 and PX05 Passive Crossovers-redefine the category to offer the most seamless and realistic low frequency reproduction possible.
The CES system's $8900 SS4 employs two long-throw 15" woofers in a 51" H x 19" W x 26.5" D, 290 pound cabinet with up to 113 dB of output at 20 Hz and up to 120 dB at 30 Hz to meet the needs of consumers who desire extraordinary amounts of bass output for their home theater or music systems.
The subwoofers and Integrator both incorporate aspects of THIEL's patented SmartSub technology:
- The SmartSub Integrator can be adjusted to automatically match any of the four subwoofers to your main speakers, regardless of brand or type, for the most accurate and seamless sonic integration.
- Any of the four subwoofers can be easily adjusted to accurately eliminate room interaction problems for any placement, without microphones or complicated measurements.
- Unique electronic circuitry in the SS2, SS3, and SS4 corrects for compression distortion due to heating of the drivers' voice coils for more dynamic and effortless reproduction.
The award-winning THIEL CS7.2
The flagship CS7.2 is a four-way, floor-standing dynamic speaker system designed for extremely realistic sound reproduction in home music and video sound systems. The CS7.2 features all THIEL-designed and built aluminum diaphragm, short coil/long gap drivers that offer very accurate frequency response and very low distortion. The coaxially mounted tweeter and upper midrange drivers provide perfect time coherence, regardless of listener position, for improved spatial performance and transient fidelity. The 12-inch woofer, coupled with the 12-inch passive radiator, provides high output and outstanding dynamics down to 25Hz. Also, the CS7.2's front baffle is constructed of cast, mineral filled polymer to provide an extremely rigid mounting of all the drivers, greatly reducing unwanted vibration. The result is outstanding clarity, three-dimensional spaciousness, accurate and uniform tonal balance, and wide dynamic range, all which contribute to the speaker's exceptional realism
