THIS BOOKSHELF SPEAKER
DELIVERS A LIBRARY OF SOUND.

Don’t judge our new TM3 by its size. Because every element has been individually engineered to deliver a big, robust sound that defies expectation. From the Titanium domed tweeter, to the customized woofer, to the rigid, braced cabinet, to the proprietary waveguide, each and every component of this system contributes to filling your room with the purest sound possible.

THIEL Engineering dovetails expertise with evolution to create a comprehensive system that elevates your experience. That’s why each component of the TM3 system has been optimized for a very specific purpose.

CUSTOM FIBERGLASS WOOFER

Built to our demanding specifications by the Danish audiophiles at Scan-Speak, the customized low-resonance 6.5” woofer is fitted with a fiberglass cone, a custom voice coil, and optimized moving mass for an impressive low frequency extension.

TITANIUM DOME TWEETER

We enlisted the passionate Norwegian craftsmen at SEAS to build the 1” Titanium dome tweeter, which works with the overall acoustical design to result in a uniform frequency response. Why Titanium? Because it provides smoother high frequency breakup (at inaudible frequencies). Also, because the SPL at the breakup frequency is lower, which helps reduce the intermodulation distortion.

HIGH FREQUENCY WAVEGUIDE

To give the TM3 full voice, we surrounded it with a proprietary waveguide to optimize directivity and reflection. This provides a delicate balance between activating the space and keeping the soundstage free from blurring due to excessive sidewall reflections.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION CROSSOVER

This is where THIEL Engineering comes fully into play. We employ a multi-order crossover that aligns multiple variables to ensure the drivers are merged for the purest sound possible. This improves the reliability of the entire system, enabling it to handle the power you use to listen - at the volume you like. And instead of designing solely from mathematical formulae, we augment our exacting measurement tools with the most sensitive, subtle instrument available — the human ear.

ACOUSTICALLY NEUTRAL ENCLOSURE

Like it’s not even there: that’s the goal. The graceful curves expressed in low-resonant materials, the internal bracing, and the low diffraction cabinet profile all enhance the soundstage and reduce frequency response anomolies. The specially-designed, hexagonally perforated grill and acoustically transparent grill cloth are additional considerations on the path to inaudibility. All in a cabinet that’s neutral to your ears, but not to your eyes.

LOW TURBULENCE PORT

Proper port design lets you hear the low frequencies without strain, but doesn’t impose itself with turbulence and noise that could color the midrange.
